Cookie Policy

This policy explains how Civicore uses cookies and similar technologies on the marketing website at civicore.co.ke (the "Marketing Site"), the web application at app.civicore.co.ke (the "Application"), and the mobile applications published as Civicore: Kenya Campaigns (application ID ke.co.civicore.app) (the "Mobile Apps"). It is part of the Privacy Policy, which is the single privacy notice for all three surfaces.

1. Marketing Site

  • Theme preference — a small key in localStorage remembers whether you prefer light or dark mode. It is not used to identify you.
  • Vercel Analytics — privacy-safe, cookie-free aggregate metrics for site performance and traffic. No advertising identifier.
  • Security — if Cloudflare Turnstile or a similar challenge is enabled on a form, that provider may set a technical cookie or token to distinguish people from bots.

2. Application

The Application uses essential cookies and local storage to sign you in (including via Clerk), keep a session, protect against cross-site request forgery, and remember security state. These are required to provide the service you request. We do not use advertising or cross-site behavioural-tracking cookies on the Application.

If you open the Application inside a Mobile App in-app browser for registration, billing, or legal pages, the same essential session technologies apply.

3. Mobile Apps

Native apps do not use browser cookies in the same way. They store authentication tokens, local caches, optional Firebase Cloud Messaging push tokens, and crash-diagnostics identifiers on the device so the app can sign you in, load content, deliver notifications you enabled, and remain stable. Those technologies are described in the Privacy Policy, Sections 4.4 and 6. They are not used to track you across third-party apps for advertising.

4. What we do not use

  • No Google Analytics or Meta Pixel on the Marketing Site.
  • No advertising or behavioural-tracking cookies for third-party ads.
  • No sale of cookie data.

5. Managing storage

You can clear Marketing Site storage in your browser's site-data controls, sign out of the Application to end a session, and clear app storage or revoke notifications in iOS or Android settings. Blocking essential Application cookies will prevent sign-in.
