What does Civicore do instead?

Civicore is campaign operations software: profiles, teams, tasks, events, volunteers, and communications scoped to Kenya’s counties, constituencies, and wards.

Where do official ORPP processes belong?

Registers and regulates political parties under the Political Parties Act. Those functions stay with the competent body. Civicore does not impersonate them.

The ORPP is the statutory office that registers political parties in Kenya. Civicore is operational software for parties that are already — or intend to be — legally constituted.

Mandate

Registers and regulates political parties under the Political Parties Act.

Party administration on Civicore covers rosters, admins, broadcasts, and analytics. It is not an application for party registration.

Compliance with the Political Parties Act, party constitutions, and ORPP directives remains the party's legal responsibility.

We welcome parties that sign our peace pledge. That pledge does not replace statutory obligations to the Registrar.

Civicore’s stance

Civicore is not a department of the ORPP and does not register political parties.

Civicore is independent civic-tech. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or a substitute for the IEBC, the ORPP, Parliament, County Assemblies, the PPDT, or the Judiciary. Geography on this site is IEBC-aware so campaigns can organise on official units.
